Tiffany’s Tuesday Tip
Norah is home unwell today. Here is what we did.
This morning our 6 year old daughter woke up not feeling very good. She complained about having an irritated throat and cough. We decided to take the day to stop this thing in its tracks. It became a day of essential oils.
Essential Oil Game On!
1. Diffuser. Because of cough/congestion I diffused a combination of Breathe (Respiratory Blend) and an unsung essential oil hero: arborvitae.
Breathe: doTERRA Breathe is a remarkable blend of essential oils including Laurel Leaf, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Lemon, Ravensara, and Cardamom. doTERRA Breathe maintains feelings of clear airways and easy breathing while minimizing the effects of seasonal threats. doTERRA Breathe can be applied topically to the chest, back, or bottom of feet, or diffused at nighttime to calm the senses and promote a restful sleep.
Arborvitae: Known as the “tree of life, ” Arborvitae is majestic in size and abundant in unique benefits. Arborvitae essential oil is concentrated in tropolones, such as hinokitiol, which are a group of chemical compounds that protect against environmental and seasonal threats and have powerful purifying properties. These compounds also contribute to Arborvitae’s natural insect repellent properties. Thujic acid, another tropolone found in Arborvitae, has been studied for its ability to protect against common threats in the environment. Native to Canada, all parts of the Arborvitae tree were used extensively by Native Americans for health benefits.
2. On Guard in warm water. I put 1 drop in a mug of warm water, dumped half the water into another mug and filled the cup with more warm water. This diluted it so that she could enjoy drinking it without the strong taste.
3. Melaleuca Touch rolled onto her throat.
Melaleuca: Feel the cooling, refreshing effects of doTERRA Melaleuca (Tea Tree) Touch. Packaged in a convenient and smooth roll-on applicator, Melaleuca Touch delivers the purifying benefits of Melaleuca essential oil diluted in Fractionated Coconut Oil. Melaleuca Touch can be used to cleanse and purify the skin and nails and to promote a healthy complexion. It’s ideal to soothe occasional skin irritations and to use after shaving or on the bottoms of feet for a cooling effect.
4. Rubbed her Chest and down her back with the Breathe Vapor Rub
*The key to our success today and over the coming days will be consistent application of the oils. We applied and used these oils probably 4-5 times. Here is our video overview of what we did.
